These are 'hoodoos'. Now I could stop there...the name itself sets you up to wonder and lends itself to characters straight out of a beloved Dr. Seuss book. But the real wonder is peering into Byrce Canyon onto the coral colored rock towers, twisted fins, odd shaped spires, and windowed arches---the hoodoos all crowded together like some hardened alien beings waiting to board the next ship to Hoodoo Land. 'Who do' understand the amazing forces of nature that present us with such brilliant vistas? Like, erosion so powerful it carved the colorful limestone figures to forever unite in the southern Utah landscape.
