I relish a good night's sleep and a great cup of coffee. When one escapes me, I seek the other. Such was the case in the pre-dawn of a winter's morning. Insomnia had compelled me to head out along Pacific Coast Highway toward my favorite Seal Beach coffee house. As the sun began to warm the sky with color, I slowed and turned onto Ocean Boulevard. Only then did I catch site of the moon, barely discernable from the lights of pier, allowing day and night to share the same canvas.
