I favor the sights and sounds of Yosemite in the winter-muffled, absorbed by the thick carpet of white and far from the sound of traffic or human voice. The summer crowds (think Disneyland) have long since convinced me to visit during the less populated seasons. The camera can encapsulate the scenery, the ambience, the memory. But Yosemite awakens many senses photography cannot contain-like the aroma of the valley after the first rain of a season. Once experienced, you never forget it.
