The Image:
Each image is captured using the highest quality camera and film equipment available at the time.
I primarily use Fuji Velvia as my film of choice, it has the highest available resolution
(fine grain) of any film on the market, in addition to the most vivid
color reproduction of any film available.
Using a film speed of 50 allows me to do long exposures which in turn
affords me the ability to capture more details.
Using the best available lens and glass clarity and contrast, I try to get
the best possible image on film, this relives me of much of the post processing work
on the image when trying to print.
My older images were captured on 35mm film, however since then I have used 6X7 and just recently 4X5 cameras,
which produces originals that are many times lager than 35mm, this produces stunning clarity and image detail.
The Process:
After developing the transparencies, I sift through all of them to select the few images I like.
The next step is scanning these images, which is done ona very high quality drum scanner at a resolution of 4000DPI.
The image is then cleaned digitally to get rid of the dust spots and alike.
The Print:
Prints are made using the LightJet 5000, which prints digital files on photographic papers,
this process gives the best of both worlds. It uses digital files that make preparing the image easier,
in addition to providing consistent results, batch after batch. But by outputing on photographic papers,
it does not give the feel of a digital print. The final results are amazing works of art combining stunning visual
images with the longevity of Fuji's Crystal Archive Papers, which are rated to last over 60 years without any
noticeable fading or shifting in color.
Each print sold is signed and numbered, all my original prints are limited and the series limit varies and depends on the image.
The "details" section of each image lists the series limit for that image.
